Senior Manager Streaming Ad Tech Operations

Who are we hiring?

The Senior Manager, Streaming Ad Tech & Operations manages growth efforts on the flagship streaming product, MSG+, as well as across its partner footprint. The Senior Manager drives business and technical advertising requirements through to the execution and delivery of new formats and features, continuing further to identify and embed ongoing monitoring and campaign fulfilment processes that support revenue growth. This role reports to the VP, Streaming Operations.

What will you do? 

  • Act as the principal advocate for advertising technical requirements across streaming properties.
  • Lead vendor and internal meetings (across product, technology, content and marketing) to drive delivery of key features and resolution of advertising-related issues within the streaming product.
  • Lead troubleshooting and QA ad related products, technology, and performance within streaming platforms (desktop, mobile, app, CTV/OTT) – ad requests, fill rates, playout and measurement issues.
  • Support product & technology team on platform launches.
  • Design and facilitate training to outsourced trafficking and campaign fulfilment teams on best practice, new formats, troubleshooting and develop internal process documentation.
  • Maintain ad tagging taxonomy within FreeWheel for all ad formats, device end points and content types to support sales targeting options.
  • Liaise with distribution and external partners to deliver platform integrations on partner devices.
  • Lead ongoing maintenance of distribution partner requirements.
  • Support and meet regularly with Ad Sales, Business Solutions, and Pricing and Planning teams to communicate streaming commercial capabilities, fine tune processes, and ensure maximum revenue generation and retention.
  • Monitor advertising platform performance indicators to ensure optimal functioning and up time including request responses, fill rates, render and completion rates.
  • Maintain process documentation for ad trafficking and QA.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in advertising technology and operations and make proactive recommendations to support internal strategy and best practice deployment.

 

What do you need to succeed?

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in digital advertising technology or operations
  • 5+ specifically in live/on-demand streaming and SSAI, including experience using FreeWheel, Google Ad Manager or a similarly common publisher ad server
  • Experience tracking multiple concurrent projects and workstreams
  • Experience outlining testing requirements, developing and executing testing procedures.
  • Experience working in live sports is preferred
  • Deep understanding of the streaming ad tech landscape and operational strategies in live ad insertion
  • Strong data fluency – ability to extrapolate insights and trends from large volumes of data
  • Understanding of commonly used formats for digital ad creative (VAST, VMAP, HTML)
  • Working knowledge of debugging tools
  • Familiarity with SCTE-35 standards
  • Ability to effectively collaborate across sales, product and technology stakeholders to deliver tangible results
  • Self-motivated and ability to multitask in different projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal oversight
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in pivoting between technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Flexibility to respond to urgent operational issues outside of standard working hours
  • Ability to travel occasionally for vendor and partner meetings if needed

Pay Range
$96,000$170,000 USD
