Who are we hiring?

The Senior Financial Analyst serves as the strategic and financial partner for Sphere Entertainment supporting the Sphere Studios and Ventures team located in California. This position will play a key role in assisting in our budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning and provide management with key analytical support. The Senior Financial Analyst will support the Senior Manager and VP of Financial Planning with the day-to-day operations of the department.

What will you do?

  • Assist team in planning, executing, compiling, and analyzing the periodic results, monthly forecasts, annual budget, and long-term plans 
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate monthly financial results. Assist with monthly accruals, reclasses, prepaid expenses and investigate variances versus plan and forecast
  • Provide detailed monthly financial results for expense tracking, departmental reporting packages and key financial support schedules
  • Gather information and provide analysis for capital expenditures and work closely with Controllership to ensure costs are correctly captured based on GAAP requirements
  • Collaborate with Accounting to review monthly accruals, reclasses, prepaid expenses as necessary
  • Create detailed analysis for presentations and reporting packages to Senior Leadership
  • Develop process efficiencies (e.g. automate reports, management dashboards, PO tracking, etc.)
  • Utilize financial planning software as necessary to support information requests
  • Assist operational teams with financial policies and best practices (Requisitions for proper coding, CAR forms correctly populated, competitive bid requirements, etc.)
  • Support completion of ad-hoc analysis, special projects, and presentations for various internal stakeholders and finance
  • Establish strong relationships and collaborate frequently with operations, business leaders, and Corporate partners

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum of 3+ years financial reporting/planning experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Finance/Accounting or related field
  • Strong communication and analytical skills required to work independently to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong financial planning and analysis skills with extensive knowledge in monthly reporting, monthly closes, and capital expenditures
  • Ability to perform detailed comparative financial analysis and present summary findings to Executive Management in a logical, concise manner
  • Flexible, “special-projects” orientation coupled with solid multi-taking abilities
  • Strong technical skills with financial software such as Excel, Oracle EPBCS/Smartview, Concur and Coupa applications preferred

Pay Range
$75,000$105,000 USD
